For the past 20 years, Performance Transmission has obtained, retained and steadily grown our Gainesville auto repair shop. Honestly, it doesn’t feel like it has been that long.
As the saying goes, “Choose a job you love and you will never work a day in your life”. The Baxley family is blessed to be able to provide a steady, safe and joyful work environment for all of our employees — even through a pandemic. All while providing a friendly, trustworthy and reliable auto repair shop experience to everyone who visits. Our family doesn’t take any of these things for granted, nor do we take the responsibility that comes along with it lightly.
To celebrate the occasion, we asked a family friend, Ernesto Amador, to help us design a special 20th Anniversary logo. We brainstormed tons of ideas on how to best reflect our personality. Something that represents our past, present and future.
Our final design includes the American flag. This represents our love and respect for our nation. The checkered racing flag represents our love of race cars. This includes both NASCAR and, more recently, drift racing. The pistons, of course, represent the motors we repair.
Even after we agreed on the final design, Ernesto insisted that the logo have our family name in it. (‘Funny because he isn’t a Baxley.) He really felt it should be in the design.
Upon adding our name we realized, however, that we also needed to honor the original opening of Performance Transmission in 1986. To that, we added the date Artie bought the shop, which was 2001.
We are in love with the final design. It now appears on our personal trucks’ back windshields, our social media, hats, stickers, cards and shirts. We recently sponsored a local dance school and a drift car race team, too. So you will likely see this logo all around town.
