Dustin Baxley

Dustin is a Gainesville native and graduate of Buchholz High School. He loves the town, its people, its history and, of course, the Florida Gators.

Dustin grew up helping his dad fix cars while watching NASCAR and drag racing. It’s not surprising he would join his dad and mom working at Performance Transmission and A/C. Dustin already had years of customer service experience from jobs in high school. This helped him create a welcoming and positive atmosphere within the shop.

In the very beginning, Dustin

• Ran errands
• Swept and mopped
• Gave customers rides
• Picked up parts
• Answered phone calls

Today Dustin holds the title of General Manager and Service Writer.

In 2011, Dustin spearheaded the redesign and expansion of the shop and lobby areas. This was about more than just changing the layout and size of the shop. It was about moving Performance Transmission and A/C into the future by creating a customer service-centered facility.

After nearly two decades of working with Artie, Dustin knows how cars operate. What’s most important is his ability to communicate this knowledge to clients.

Most people do not understand how cars work. However, when their vehicles need repair, most people want to know what they are getting for their money.

Dustin can explain complex problems in

• A simple
• Easy-to-understand way
• Without making the customer feel uncomfortable or
• Uneducated.

Dustin and Colleen married in 2009.

In 2016, they welcomed a son, Andrew Stephen Baxley, into the world.

Their family also includes Whiskey, an adorable rescue cat.  

In his spare time, Dustin enjoys camping, fishing, boating, hiking, scuba diving and kayaking.

Dustin also tends to a mid-size garden of fruits and vegetables.

He is  also a talented BBQ cook with his own rib rub recipe which is perfected by hours of cooking in the smoker.
