Artie Baxley

Born and raised in Gainesville, Artie began tinkering with cars in high school. A graduate of Eastside High and Santa Fe College, Artie has been getting people back on the road for over 37 years.

Artie’s auto repair career started at a small local shop. From there he moved on to a large corporate tire and repair facility where he worked his way up to store manager.

While running an entire corporate location, Artie thought about owning his own shop. This way he could be his own boss and spend time with his family.

In 2001, Artie purchased Performance Transmission and A/C. It was a small but established shop with two bays and two full-time mechanics. As long as:

• Customers were treated right and with respect
• Mechanics were treated fairly and continuously educated

Artie would have been happy with this. His customers, however, had other ideas. Due to extensive word-of-mouth referrals, Performance Transmission and A/C had to grow to keep up with demand. Today the shop has:

• Several full-time mechanics
• A manager/service writer
• Two office staff
• Four indoor lifts
• Two outdoor lifts, one heavy-duty
• The most up-to-date equipment
• A clean spacious lobby
